How We help

Andee’s Army Outreach

Andee’s Army is working diligently with the region’s leading specialty hospitals and rehab centers to research and identify families who are in the most need of our resources.

We have expanded our Financial Assistance Program into two phases and have established an endowment fund that directly supports our mission of providing financial assistance to families of children and adolescents with brain and spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions:

1.  Our Financial Assistance Program has been expanded into two phases:

a.  Phase I provides emergency financial assistance to families of associated, but uninsured expenses while the Child or Youth is in the acute or sub-acute phase of care in a hospital environment. Eligible expenses considered for reimbursement include household expenses for rent, mortgage, utility bills and food, therapies, transportation and lodging, doctors and specialists, equipment, and basic home modifications.

b. Phase II provides financial assistance of associated, but uninsured expenses directly related to rehabilitative medical treatment and home care for the child or adolescent that is either transitioning or has already transitioned from a hospital to outpatient rehabilitation or to a home environment. Eligible expenses considered for reimbursement include therapies, transportation and lodging, doctors and specialists, caregivers, equipment, basic home modification and educational tutors.

2. A multi-year endowment fund administered through Shepherd Center, a leading rehabilitation hospital, to support rehabilitative medical treatment and home care needs for adolescents that are currently patients at Shepherd Center, for needs not typically covered by insurance or other compensation sources. Eligible items, may include but are not limited to, assistive technology and durable medical equipment, basic home modifications, and miscellaneous emergency items such as transportation, medication or attendant care.

Andee’s Army serves as an invaluable resource to the patients and families at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The program’s support helps families who have children with non-traumatic brain injuries staying in our Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. It also allows families impacted by a long hospital stay to maintain everyday life and address immediate needs. Our families are grateful for the generosity of Andee’s Army and its commitment to helping ease their burden so they can focus more on caring for their child.”
